Lychee
by Snownee
With Lychee, server owners and pack makers define in-world interactions such as burning, anvil crafting, crushing and lightning strikes through JSON recipes.
What it does
Lychee lets a datapack describe interactions that happen in the world rather than at a crafting table. Recipe types cover an item entity burning, an item entity sitting inside a specific block such as water, anvil crafting, a falling block crushing items or a block, lightning channeling, and items or blocks exploding. Each recipe is a JSON file, so new interactions are added without writing Java code. Recipe types are supported in the recipe viewers of the catalog's mod ecosystem.
To make a recipe work in every world, a datapack loader mod such as OpenLoader is needed. Recipes can also be added through other scripting tools. The mod requires Kiwi on all loaders, and Cloth Config API and KubeJS are optional. Eight catalog mods require Lychee, including Fruitful Fun, Stone Crude Age (HardRock TFC), TFC Debark, TFC Metal Tools and TFC Lumberjack. Either side can run it and neither needs it. Builds cover 1.18.2 – 26.1.2 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the code is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved.
Key features
Item entity burning
Recipes can set an item entity on fire, turning a dropped item into a new result.
Fluid contact
An item entity inside a specific block, such as water, can trigger a recipe.
Anvil crafting
Anvil recipes take items as input and produce a defined output in the anvil.
Crushing and lightning
Blocks that fall can crush items or blocks, and lightning can be channeled into a recipe result.

Use cases
Modpack interactions
Pack makers add burning, fluid or lightning interactions to a world without a custom mod.
Server datapacks
Server owners add in-world recipes through a datapack, then load them with a datapack loader.
Who it’s for: Pack makers, datapack authors and server owners who want custom world interactions defined in JSON and do not want to write mod code.
