Graves
by lullaby
Graves saves a player's loot into a grave block when they die, so the items can be collected later from the place of death.
What it does
When a player dies, the mod places a grave at the death position and stores the inventory in it, so the loot is kept instead of dropping on the ground. The grave can be customized: it can despawn after a set number of ticks, show the owner's name, equip armor automatically when the player collects it, and glow. Loot can also be taken from the grave by sneaking at its position.
Graves is compatible with the Soulbound enchantment, while curios and accessories are not supported. The mod runs on the server, and players join without installing it. It is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files for 1.21 – 26.3 and 3.0.1 for 26.3 as the latest version, and it is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later. A data pack form is also available for servers.
Key features
Grave on death

Configurable despawn
Graves can despawn after a set time; the default is 100000 ticks and the option can be turned off.
Owner and glow options
The grave can show the owner's name and glow, and both settings can be changed in the configuration.
Auto equip and sneak looting
Armor can be equipped automatically from the grave, and sneaking at its position collects the loot.

Use cases
Survival servers
Server owners can keep loot safe after death without changing the game's keep inventory rule for everyone.
Custom death rules
The despawn timer and the other options let a server adjust how long a grave remains.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want deaths to leave a recoverable grave rather than scattered items. Players only need the server to run the mod.
