HexxyPlanes

by Sevens

With HexxyPlanes, players who cast Hex Casting spells can set up small personal dimensions, each one a private cell that can be reached from anywhere in the world.

What it does

HexxyPlanes adds mini personal dimensions that work with Hex Casting. A player can use them to hide things, cast spells, grow crops, run experiments on the local villager population, or build a private lounge away from the main world. The addon that Hex Casting itself provides, with its own 14 by 14 by 14 cube, is supported as well.

Planes are reached through a warp: a staff, a flick and a transported cell take the player to the chosen plane. A plane's footprint fits within the wall's limit, and absurd contraptions can be used to warp reality into a plane's access. Across 263k possible cells, a collision is unlikely, though it cannot be ruled out entirely. Sharing a plane does not stop the owner from keeping it private.

The mod requires Architectury API, Cloth Config API, Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin, Hex Casting and Kotlin for Forge, depending on the loader. Mod Menu is optional. HexxyPlanes is open source under the MIT License and runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Files are published for Fabric and Forge, for 1.20.1.

Key features

  1. Personal dimensions

Each player can create small private planes for hexcasting secrets and for keeping items out of sight.

  2. Warp by staff

A staff, a flick and a transported cell are enough to move between planes, without any other setup.

  3. Crop and villager experiments

Planes can host crop farming and experiments that involve the local villager population.

  4. Large cell space

With 263k possible cells, most new planes avoid collisions, though a collision remains possible.

Full comparison

Hexthingy is a Fabric-only client and server mod under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, for 1.20.1. IronCasting is a Forge-only client and server mod under the MIT License, also for 1.20.1. Hextra is a Fabric-only client and server mod under the MIT License for 1.20.1, so the three differ mainly in loader and license.

What the author says

Have you ever felt that a hollow obsidian cube beneath the very ground upon which you walk just isn't quite secure enough for your valuables, goodies, and trinkets of various shapes, sizes, and lustres? Well how about a nigh impenetrable¹ and almost certainly unique² plane of existence that only you³ have the key to?…
