Gelatin is a Fabric library that gives mod creators a registry for adding new DyeColor values to Minecraft without rewriting the color code themselves.
What it does
Minecraft hard-codes its dye colors as a fixed enum, which makes new colors difficult to add. Gelatin replaces that enum with a DyeColorant registry, so other mods can register extra colors and use them across the game. Gelatin is open source under the MIT License and requires Fabric API.
The library targets the same problem that makes new colors costly: every colored variant, such as wool, concrete, beds and other blocks and items, needs its own recipes and handling. Gelatin moves that work into one shared registry, and its color order is kept in sync between server and client to avoid the desyncs that load order can cause when colors are only partly extended. Client and server both need the mod, and it is published for 1.19.2 – 1.20.1.
