Fog
by IMB11
With Fog, the haze across the landscape changes color, density and reach as players move through caves, biomes, weather and the day cycle.
What it does
The mod replaces how the game draws fog, adjusting its color, start and end points. Shifting the fog start forward keeps the same view distance while giving terrain more depth. Fog thickens underground, shifts with rain and snow, takes on warmer tones at sunrise and sunset, and follows the moon phase at night.
Fog also changes with the biome a player stands in, and modded biomes are supported through a custom JSON fog definition format. Fabric developers can use the mod's datagen providers to add compatibility. Server owners can adjust fog start and end points and biome colors. Fog requires Architectury API, Fabric API, MRU and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. Files cover 1.19 – 26.3, and the mod is needed on the client while a server can run without it.
