FFNutrition
by Fyxe
FFNutrition adds a food nutrition system to Minecraft, where foods contribute nutrient categories that decay over time, and it is server-side only.
What it does
Foods contribute to nutrient categories, and each category decays over time, so players have to keep eating a varied diet rather than relying on one food. Values are based on the existing nutrition and saturation numbers, and the decay rate is slower at higher config levels. Max Health determines how full each category can get, which ties the system to the player's progress.
Hunger increases over time, and eating a full meal is the way to refill the bars. The mod is built as a lightweight, configurable change to food mechanics, aimed at making food matter throughout a playthrough instead of only at the start. Items get their nutrition data directly, and a regex fallback covers foods that do not define any. Tooltips from Thirst and Freeze Heat can be shown alongside it.
Installation needs Fabric API on Fabric. The release line covers 1.20.1 – 26.3, with builds for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. Only the server needs the mod, so players join without installing it. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
Key features
Nutrient categories
Foods fill separate nutrient categories, so eating a balanced mix keeps a player fuller than a single food type.
Decay over time
Each category slowly empties, so hunger returns and players need to keep eating.
Configurable rules
Decay rate, category limits and other food mechanics can be changed in the config, and a minimum set is available.
Item nutrition data
Nutrition values are read directly from item data, with a regex fallback for foods that have none.

What the author says
Minecraft's food mechancis are lackluster and I feel like most food related mods swing too far the other direction. This is my take on a nutrition system that is unobtrusive, interesting to use, and highly configurable. The goal is to make all foods a relevant part of your playthrough. Uses directly set item…
