Enchant Faker

by Funk Planet

Enchant Faker, a server-side Fabric mod for 1.20.1, assigns enchantments to mobs, potions and status effects through tags.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

Enchantment effects are mapped to mob, potion and status effect tags, so an enchantment can trigger when an entity carries a given status effect. A mapping can be set in the config file enchant faker.json5, which is created on first run. Changes to that file take effect only after Minecraft is restarted. Required dependencies are Cloth Config API and Fabric API, and Mod Menu is optional. The mod runs on the server alone, so players join without installing it. Its code is under the MIT License and is open source.

Key features

  1. Tag-based mapping

Enchantments are attached to mob, potion and status effect tags, which decides what each enchantment responds to.

  2. Status effect triggers

An entity with an active status effect can receive the enchantment linked to that effect, for example Respiration III while wearing an enchanted helmet.

  3. JSON5 configuration

The mappings are written to enchant faker.json5, so server owners can edit them directly and reload by restarting the server.

What the author says

Lets you apply enchantments to entities based on their current status effects. The enchantments to apply are determined by mob_effect tags. Now, whenever an entity has the spectral_seas:amphibious effect, they will also get the Respiration III enchantment as if they were wearing a helmet enchanted with it.
