DuskCustomizer
by isylxnt
DuskCustomizer lets players rename held items and edit their lore with colors, gradients and MiniMessage formatting, and it runs only on the server.
What it does
Players rename the item in their main hand and add, edit, remove, reset, copy, paste or insert lore lines. Names and lore accept classic color codes, hex colors, MiniMessage tags and gradients. Added text stays non-italic unless italic formatting is used explicitly. Whatever else the item carries is left in place after an edit, so its enchantment and durability values survive a rename.
The server owner sets XP costs for renaming and lore editing, chooses whether chat messages, action-bar feedback and a success sound are shown, and edits the settings through the mod's configuration. Players join without installing anything, since the mod is server-side only. Installation requires Fabric Loader and Fabric API in the server's mods folder. Files are published for Fabric 1.20 – 26.3, with 1.0.1 for 26.3 as the latest, and the code is open source under the MIT License. Paper, Purpur and Folia are also listed as server platforms.
Key features
Held item renaming
The item in the main hand can be renamed with a single command, using the same color and formatting options as its lore.
Lore line editing
Lore lines can be added, edited, removed, reset, copied, pasted and inserted, so an item's description can be rebuilt line by line.
MiniMessage and color support
Classic color codes, hex colors, MiniMessage tags and gradients all work in names and lore.
Configurable costs and feedback
XP costs for each action, chat messages, action-bar feedback and a success sound can be set by the server owner.
Preserved item data
Stored values such as durability and potion effects remain on the item after it is renamed or edited.

Who it’s for: Server owners who want players to customize item names and descriptions without installing a client mod.
How it compares
Item Rename is server-side only, released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license, and is not open source; it covers 1.19.1 – 26.2 on Fabric and Quilt. ChromaAnvils is open source under the MIT License and works on either side, and neither needs it, for 1.21 – 26.2 on Fabric. LuxName is client-side only, open source under the MIT License, and covers 1.21 – 26.1.2 on Fabric, so it changes nothing on the server.
