ChromaAnvils
by NATroutter
ChromaAnvils lets players rename items at an anvil with colored and styled text, using MiniMessage formatting on Fabric.
What it does
The mod adds color support to anvils, so a renamed item can carry named colors such as gold, aqua or light purple, along with gradients and rainbow effects. Styling is written with MiniMessage tags, and a decoration table lists the available tags. Players who prefer not to type tags can build the styling with the MiniMessage Viewer and paste the result in.
Server owners control the feature through a set of configs. They can blacklist specific items, and they can turn off the option that removes the anvil cost limit, so anvils stay within normal vanilla pricing. Permission support lets a server grant color formatting to chosen groups. Clients must run the mod to see and use the colors, and the server can be left without it.
ChromaAnvils is published for Fabric only, in 8 release versions 1.21 – 26.2, with 1.1.0 for 26.2 as the latest file. Either side can run it without the other, and the MIT License applies. The code is open source and public on its source repository.

How it compares
Anvil Too Expensive Fix is server-side required with an optional client and targets the anvil cost limit rather than colored names. DuskCustomizer is server-side only and open source under the MIT License, covering 1.20 – 26.3. Colored Name Tags runs on client and server and is open source under the MIT License for 1.20.1 – 1.21.8, so it changes how names are shown instead of how they are written at an anvil.
