DurableTools
by shiri47s
DurableTools gives tools, fireworks, torches and lanterns a durability value, so items wear out and are replaced over time instead of lasting indefinitely.
What it does
Survival play gets a durability layer on items. Tools track how much use they have left, and a totem can save a player from death, with the item being consumed on use. A reusable torch removes the tedious task of crafting torches over and over, and a lantern can be equipped in a charm slot to light the area around a player, without holding a torch in the hand.
The mod is aimed at survival worlds where players want resources to matter and item upkeep to be part of the routine. Installation needs Architectury API and Trinkets on every loader, and Fabric API on Fabric. LambDynamicLights is optional and is suggested for the lantern's light behaviour. DurableTools runs on client and server across 5 release versions, 1.20 – 1.21.1, and is open source under the MIT License.
The author describes the mod as a project still in development, with more content planned. Builds for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge are published, and the newest files target 1.21.1 and 1.20.2.
