Disrobe Sounds
by ZipeStudio
Disrobe Sounds plays the unequip sound that vanilla leaves out when armor, horse armor, saddles and other equippable items are taken off a slot.
What it does
The mod listens for changes in equipment slots and plays a matching unequip sound for the item that was removed. Armor, horse armor, saddles, carpets and other equippable items are covered, so a slot emptied by hand, by a server command or by another mod produces the same audible feedback. Each sound is picked to suit the slot the item left.
Disrobe Sounds requires Fabric API and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 23 release versions, 1.20 – 26.2. The code is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution No Derivatives 4.0, and the mod is not open source, though public links to its source code and issue tracker exist.
Minecraft 1.21.2 and newer already handle the equippable component on their own, so the sound logic only needs extra configuration on older builds. The mod plays sounds without touching game logic and only observes slot changes, which lets it sit alongside other mods that change how equipment is handled.
Key features
Unequip sounds for equipment
Removing armor, horse armor or a saddle plays a sound that matches the slot the item came from.
Covers saddles and carpets
Saddles, carpets and other equippable items are included alongside the armor pieces.
Sounds only, no logic changes
The mod reads slot changes and plays audio, so it leaves the item and inventory behavior unchanged.
Compatible with inventory mods
Because it only observes slot changes, it does not conflict with mods that alter the equipment system.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Players who want audible feedback when equipment is removed, and modpack makers who work with armor, horse armor and saddles. Servers do not need the mod, and no configuration is needed on Minecraft 1.21.2 and newer.
How it compares
Craftable Saddle is server required with client optional, under All rights reserved, and covers 1.20 – 1.21.5 on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. PassiveArmour is server-side only, open source under the MIT License, for Fabric and 1.21.5 – 1.21.11. Fast Recipe is client-side only under Creative Commons Attribution No Derivatives 4.0 and covers 1.17 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, but it changes crafting rather than sounds.
