Daylite
Daylite replaces abrupt brightness changes with smooth transitions between the light levels of different environments, on the client only.
What it does
Daylite is a Fabric mod for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.5 and later, and it smooths brightness changes as the player moves between environments, such as a cave and the open surface. It targets players who want moody shadows at night without losing sight of ores in caves. Dynamic brightness controls aim to take the place of the vanilla brightness setting, with gamma values that change automatically as the player moves between environments. The mod requires Mod Menu, which supplies its configuration screen. Only the client needs Daylite, and it is released under the MIT License as open source. Latest Fabric file: 4.0.0 for 26.3.
Key features

Brightness shifts gradually between light levels instead of jumping when the player enters another environment.
