What it does

Vision lets a player raise or lower the screen brightness of Minecraft through a percentage-based system. Set the value to 0% to leave the game at its default brightness, raise it above zero to brighten the screen, or drop it below zero to darken it. The lowest and highest allowed values, the size of each adjustment step, and the message shown when the value changes can all be set in the configuration.

Smooth transitions can be turned on so that the brightness changes gradually over a configurable duration instead of jumping. Settings are edited through Mod Menu, which is required together with Cloth Config API and Fabric API. The mod is published for Fabric only, across four game versions, 1.21.11 – 26.3, with 1.1.5 for 26.3 as the latest file. It is not open source and is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Percentage brightness

Brightness is expressed as a percentage, with 0% representing the normal look of Minecraft.

  2. Arrow key control

The Arrow Up and Arrow Down keys raise or lower the brightness value during play.

  3. Adjustable range and steps

The lowest and highest values and the step size of each change can be configured.

  4. Smooth transitions

An optional fade changes brightness over a duration the player sets, instead of an instant switch.
