Countered's Smooth Steps changes how the camera rises when the player climbs blocks that are within the step height, such as stairs and slabs.

What it does

The mod smooths the camera movement when stepping up stairs, slabs and other blocks that fall within the player's step height, so the view no longer jumps. It is aimed at making travel over uneven terrain more pleasant, and it pairs with the Terrain Slabs mod. Architectury API and MidnightLib are required, and the mod is client-side only, so servers run without it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across six game versions, 1.20.1 – 26.3, under the MIT License, which is not open source.
