BedFallback

by legenden

BedFallback keeps a player's old bed as a spawn point when a newer bed replaces it or is broken, so respawns can return to a known place.

What it does

When a bed that a player set as a spawn point is broken, the mod falls back to a previous bed still in the world instead of the world spawn. Old beds stay tracked rather than being discarded, which suits modpacks and servers that want players to keep a nearby respawn point. A server config option sets the maximum number of fallback beds kept per player, with a default of 3. The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing it. It requires Fabric API on Fabric and Forge Config API Port on Forge and NeoForge. Files cover 1.20.1 – 1.21.11 and are released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, which is open source.

Key features

  1. Previous bed fallback

Respawns return to the most recent earlier bed when the current spawn bed is destroyed.

  2. Tracked old spawn points

Beds that were replaced remain known, so they can serve as fallback points later.

  3. Configurable bed limit

A server option caps how many fallback beds are remembered, defaulting to 3.

What the author says

A simple utility mod to help in modpacks or servers, to avoid getting spawned back at world spawn, but rather keep track of old spawn points if the beds still exist. Server config option which sets maximum known fallback beds. Default is 3.
