A Good Place
With A Good Place installed, block placement plays a short animation chosen through resource packs, and the animation can be tuned for each block.
What it does
Placing a block triggers an animation, and the sequence is defined in JSON files inside a resource pack. A sample pack ships with the mod in the resource pack folder, and its animation file can be edited or extended with new files to create one or more animations. Each animation can be set to affect specific blocks and tweaked through control points that shape how it plays out.
The mod is a client-side only decoration and utility mod, so only the client needs it and servers run without it. It is open source under the MIT License. Files exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, covering game versions 1.20 – 26.3, with the latest Fabric file for 26.3 and the latest NeoForge file for 26.2. After the first install, the default texture pack may need to be enabled in the resource pack folder.
Key features
Resource pack animations
Placement animations are defined in JSON files, so a pack can add new animations or change existing ones.
Per-block targeting
Each animation can be limited to chosen blocks, leaving other placements unchanged.
Control points
Several control points set how the animation unfolds over its duration.
Sample pack
A ready-made sample pack in the resource pack folder gives a starting point for editing.

Use cases
Custom build effects
Map makers and pack authors can give selected blocks their own placement sequence for a themed build.
Who it’s for: Resource pack creators and players who want visual feedback when placing blocks. The mod is for clients only, so server owners do not need to install it.
How it compares
EaseGUI is also client-side only and open source, but it is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later and targets GUI screens rather than block placement. Additional Placements is open source under the MIT License but runs on both client and server and is published for Forge and NeoForge only, for 1.16.5 – 26.1.2.
