Zombie Jerky

by kestalkayden

Zombie Jerky lets players turn rotten zombie flesh into purified beef jerky using a smoker, a food item that the vanilla game does not offer.

FabricNeoForgeClient and serverCC0 1.0 UniversalOpen source1.16.4 – 26.3

What it does

The mod adds a recipe path for rotten flesh dropped by zombies. Players smoke the flesh in a Smoker block, and the result is a jerky food item. Zombies are the source of the material, so players need to defeat some of them before crafting begins.

Zombie Jerky needs Fabric API on Fabric. On NeoForge it runs without that dependency. The server and every player need the mod installed. Files cover seven release versions, and snapshot builds are published as well, with 2.2.0+mc26.3 as the latest file for 26.3. The source code is public under CC0 1.0 Universal, which places the work in the public domain.

Key features

  1. Rotten flesh smoking

Rotten flesh is placed in a Smoker, which turns it into purified beef jerky.

  2. Zombie-sourced ingredient

Zombies provide the rotten flesh, so players gather it by fighting the mobs in their world.

  3. Jerky as food

The finished jerky is an edible item that fills hunger, with its own recipe rather than a vanilla one.

What the author says

Zombie Jerky is a simple mod that was requested by a Subscriber of mine. Turn Rotten Flesh into Zombie Jerky in the smoker! This requires Fabric. Not forge compatible. Stick that flesh into a smoker to rid if of it's poison and turn it into jerky!
