by EngineHub

With WorldEdit installed, players and server owners select regions of a map and edit them in-game through commands, schematics, brushes and scripts.

What it does

WorldEdit is an in-game map editor for Minecraft Java Edition. Its selections mark a region of blocks, and commands act on that region: copying and pasting it, filling it, replacing blocks, or saving it as a schematic that can be placed again later. Brushes paint shapes onto the world, and scripting lets a player automate longer edits. The mod is intended for creative building and for temporary edits in survival.

The mod needs no other mod for its own function. It is required by 17 catalog mods, among them WeCuiFix, SableEdit, Schematic Placer, Lite2Edit and WEGui, which build on its selections and schematics. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and a Paper, Spigot, Bukkit or Folia server can run it as a plugin. Builds cover 1.2.3 – 26.3, and snapshot builds are published as well.

WorldEdit runs on the client and the server, so both the server and every player need the mod for the full feature set. Only operators or players granted permission through a permissions plugin can use the commands on a server. In single-player, cheats must be enabled in the world. The code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.

Key features

  1. Region selections

Players mark a cuboid, polygonal or other region and apply commands to every block inside it.

  2. Copy and paste

A selected region can be copied, moved and pasted elsewhere, including with rotations and mirroring.

  3. Schematic files

Regions are saved as schematic files that can be loaded and placed again in any world.

  4. Brushes

Brush tools paint shapes, terrain and block patterns directly onto the map.

  5. Scripting

Scripts automate repeated or long edit sequences instead of entering each command by hand.

Use cases

Building in creative

Builders copy finished sections, repeat them and fill large areas quickly.

Editing in survival

A player with cheats enabled can make temporary large-scale edits and then return to normal play.

Who it’s for: Builders, map makers and server owners who need bulk block editing, and players who reuse saved builds across worlds.
