Wham!: Legacy

by KiCKinTheBucket

Wham!: Legacy reworks the mace, a Minecraft weapon, with a new 3D model, a 2D inventory icon and an added enchantment called Wind Control.

FabricClient and serverMozilla Public License 2.0Open source1.21 – 1.21.4

What it does

The mod replaces the vanilla mace with a reworked version. The base model is built on a mace model by GugerOS, with design inspiration credited to Daniel Krafft, and the weapon is shown in 3D when equipped, a display that earlier versions before 1.21.4 did not use. Inventory uses a 2D icon. The author describes it as a complete overhaul of the weapon.

The mace gains a new enchantment, Wind Control, which works with the weapon's fall-based strikes. The author notes that bouncing with the mace carries a cost, so players are advised to use the bounce carefully. Wham!: Legacy requires Fabric API, MidnightLib and Mod Menu, and runs on Fabric for Minecraft 1.21 – 1.21.4. Files exist for 1.21, 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3 and 1.21.4, with 2.0.4+1.21.4 as the latest Fabric file, published on 2025-04-09.

The code is open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, and the source code and issue tracker are publicly linked. Client and server both need the mod, so every player on a server that runs it installs it too. The mod was first published on 2024-09-24 and last updated on 2025-04-09.

Key features

  1. Reworked mace model

The mace is replaced with a new model with its own 3D display when held, and a 2D icon for the inventory.

  2. Wind Control enchantment

A new enchantment added to the mace, tied to hitting the floor from a height.

  3. Bounce cost

Bouncing with the mace has a cost, so the strikes are meant to be used with care.

What the author says

Credit to GugerOS for making the base for my mace model, Daniel Krafft for HEAVILY inspiring the design for the mace, and Volery for their 3D mace display a 3D model (pre-1.21.4)! This mod gives the mace a complete overhaul, making it as special as the trident, featuring a 3D model when equiped, with a nice 2D icon…
