Vanilla-Skills
Vanilla-Skills replaces vanilla progression on a server with a points-based skill tree, where experience orbs are banked as Skill Shards and Infusing Table enchanting takes their place.
What it does
Vanilla-Skills is a server-side overhaul of progression. Experience orbs no longer drop levels, the XP bar shows banked Skill Shards instead, and players spend them in a fifteen-lane skill tree through an anvil. The Infusing Table replaces enchanting, and crafting is gated across 10 gear tiers. Advancements count once as the main source of shards, while mined ores, dungeon loot, bartered items and a wandering trader add further raw materials that pay out shards.
Two currencies carry the economy. Unstable Skill Shards can be withdrawn from the skill tree, right-clicked back into a bank or traded to another player, and nine of them compress into a Stable Skill Shard Block. Ancient cities place reinforced deepslate in the world, and other mods can feed the economy through a countedNamespaces setting. Anything completed during login is recorded but earns nothing, so adding the mod to an existing world does not hand out a windfall.
Vanilla-Skills requires Fabric API on Fabric and runs on NeoForge as well. The latest files target 26.2, with 26.1.2 also listed among the two release versions, and the mod is released under All rights reserved. Public links exist for source code, the issue tracker and a wiki.
