Default Skill Trees

by Pufferfish

With Default Skill Trees installed, Pufferfish's Skills gains two ready-made skill trees, one for combat and one for mining, without any manual setup.

FabricForgeNeoForgeServer required, client optionalCC0 1.0 Universal1.18.2 – 26.2

What it does

The pack adds two skill trees that raise a player's abilities and grant assorted benefits. The combat tree is filled by killing mobs, and the mining tree by breaking stone and ores. Each tree pays out points and experience for its own activity.

The mod is a data pack bundled as a mod, so players who are used to installing mods can add it without placing a data pack by hand. It needs Pufferfish's Attributes for its custom attributes and Pufferfish's Skills to run the trees. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the latest builds are version 1.1 for 1.20.4, dated 2026-01-11. The server requires the mod, and clients may leave it out. The mod is released under the CC0 1.0 Universal license and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Combat skill tree

Points and experience come from killing mobs, feeding a tree of combat abilities and benefits.

  2. Mining skill tree

Breaking stone and ores earns points and experience for a separate tree focused on mining.

  3. Custom attributes

The trees apply attributes supplied by Pufferfish's Attributes, so that mod must be present.

  4. Bundled data pack

The content ships as a data pack inside a mod jar, matching how most players install content.
