Tool Stats Tweaker

by Unknowneth

Tool Stats Tweaker lets server owners change item statistics such as durability, attack damage, tool tier and max stack through a config file.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT License1.20.1

What it does

Stats are edited with simple config lines that name an item or tag, a stat and an operation. The available operations multiply, divide, add, subtract or set an amount, so a stone sword's durability can be doubled or a food item's maximum stack can be limited to 1. Fireproof can be switched on or off per item, and the maximum stack is capped at 64.

Tool tier can be set from 0 for no tier through 3 for diamond tools. Other editable stats include overall durability, the likelihood of higher-level enchantments, armor points, armor toughness and attack speed. Entries can target a single item ID or a tag such as c:foods, so one line covers every matching item.

The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing it. It is published for Fabric only, with 1.0.0 as the sole file, built for 1.20.1, and it needs Fabric API on Fabric. The code is under the MIT License, and the project is not open source.

Key features

  1. Config-driven item edits

Each stat change is written as one line in the config, so no datapack or code is needed to rebalance items.

  2. Four operations

Multiply, divide, add, subtract and set are available, each applied to a chosen stat of the target item.

  3. Tag targeting

A tag such as c:foods applies one rule to every item in that group instead of listing each item by hand.

  4. Fireproof and max stack

Items can be made fireproof with a true or false value, and maximum stack can be set, capped at 64.

Use cases

Rebalancing a modpack

Server owners can adjust tool durability or damage to match the pace of their world without swapping item mods.

Pacing progression

Tool tier and attack values can be shifted so that early tools feel weaker or later tools stronger.

Who it’s for: Server owners and modpack authors who want to adjust item statistics on a Fabric server running Minecraft 1.20.1, without writing code.
