TNT Countdown (TNT Timer)
by Chromatic
With TNT Countdown installed, a primed TNT block shows its remaining fuse time as a label above it, so players can see when it will go off.
What it does
The mod draws a countdown of the fuse timer above every primed TNT block. The label, its text and its colors can be changed in the mod's options, and the feature list describes the display as simple to read at a glance. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge and Ornithe across game versions 1.8.9 – 26.3, with snapshot builds published as well.
OneConfig is required and is bundled inside the mod, so the settings screen is available without a separate install. The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only. It runs on the client alone, so single-player players and multiplayer players install it themselves and servers need nothing. The latest Fabric file targets 26.3, the latest Forge file targets 1.8.9 in the alpha channel, and the latest Ornithe file targets 1.8.9.
Key features

Each primed TNT block displays the number of ticks or seconds left before it detonates.
Customizable label
The text shown above the TNT can be changed, so the countdown can carry a short prefix or wording.
Customizable colors
The color of the countdown label can be chosen, which helps it stand out against different backgrounds.

Use cases
Timed TNT setups
Builders and redstone players can see exactly when a TNT cannon or trap will fire before it happens.
Adventure maps
Map makers can use the visible timer to signal danger to players moving through an explosive area.
Who it’s for: Players who build with TNT, run redstone contraptions or create adventure maps where the fuse timing matters. The mod is useful to anyone who wants the remaining fuse time on screen without reading it from the game's sound or animation.
How it compares
TNTs Timer is open source under the MIT License, runs on Fabric and Forge, and covers 1.19.2 – 1.21.11 with the client alone. TNT Timer UI is a server-side option for Fabric only, covering 26.1.1 – 26.2, and is not open source. TnT-Timer-1.16.5-forge is a client-side Forge mod for 1.16.5 only, under the Apache License 2.0. TNT Countdown differs from all three by reaching 26.3 and by running on Ornithe as well.
