Vignette Tweaks (Damage Tint + More)
by Chromatic
Vignette Tweaks changes the screen-edge vignette so that its strength and colour can be set, and adds tints for health, hunger, air and totem events.
What it does
Under the Vignette Tweaks heading, the vignette is the dark frame that appears around the screen edges. The mod lets players set how strong that frame is and which colour it shows under each condition, so a low health or low air state can read differently from a neutral state. Status indicators draw the same tint for health, hunger, air and totem activation, giving visual feedback without extra HUD elements.
The mod works as a replacement for the default vignette and keeps its purpose: it still darkens the edges, but with options for tuning. Single-player and multiplayer clients run it alone, since it only changes what the local screen draws. OneConfig provides the settings screen, and it is bundled inside the mod, so only Fabric API must be installed beside it.
Vignette Tweaks is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only. Its files are published for Fabric, Forge and Ornithe, across 12 release versions 1.8.9 – 26.3, and the public source code and issue tracker are linked from its page.
Key features
Adjustable vignette strength
The strength of the screen-edge darkening can be set, from a faint frame to a heavy one.
Coloured condition tints
The vignette takes a colour for each condition, so damage, hunger and other states look different.
Status indicators
Health, hunger, air and totem events each have a visual tint, shown through the vignette itself.
Replaces the default vignette
The stock frame is swapped for the configurable version, and the settings are kept in an in-game screen.

Use cases
Low-health awareness
Players who want a clearer signal when health drops can set a stronger red tint for damage.
Quieter screen edges
A lower strength setting keeps the frame subtle for players who find the default vignette too dark.
Who it’s for: Players who want to tune the screen-edge effect, and players who rely on colour cues for health, hunger or air. Server owners need nothing, because the mod is client-side only.
