TimeChat is a Fabric chat mod that places a configurable timestamp in front of every message in the Minecraft chat window.
What it does
Timestamps are added to chat lines from the chat system and game information messages. The format is set with a pattern such as 7[HH:mm:ss]&r, and the pattern accepts color codes, so the prefix can be tinted or styled. A toggle switches the clock between 12-hour AM/PM and 24-hour display.
The mod is client-side only, so only the player's game needs it; servers run without it. It is compatible with servers, including servers that run plugins, and it keeps custom fonts, emojis and resource pack textures intact in the chat. Settings are changed in an in-game screen opened with the F7 key or through Mod Menu, or by editing the config file directly.
TimeChat is built for Fabric and needs Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin. Mod Menu is optional but adds the in-game settings screen. Files cover 11 release versions, 1.21 – 1.21.10, and the latest Fabric file is 1.0 for 1.21.10, published 2025-10-20. The code is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved.
