DisplayFPS
by euphorria_a
DisplayFPS puts a live frame-rate counter on the Minecraft screen, with its colors, position, background and text format set by the player.
What it does
The counter reads the current FPS and draws it in one of four screen corners: top-left, top-right, bottom-left or bottom-right. A background panel can be turned on or off, and its padding adjusted for readability. The display text is built from placeholders, so the FPS value can be shown in a chosen format, for example with a label in front of the number.
Colors are set for low, medium and high FPS values, so a glance shows how the game is running. Settings are edited in an in-game menu that Cloth Config provides, and ModMenu opens that screen directly from the mod list. The mod needs Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin, and Java 21 or higher. It is client-side only, so the server and other players do not need it. Files are published for Fabric, with 13 release versions 1.20 – 1.21.5, under the CC0 1.0 Universal license, which is not open source.
Key features
Live FPS counter
The current frame rate is drawn on screen during play, updating as the game runs.
Color thresholds
Separate colors are assigned to low, medium and high FPS values, so the reading can be judged at a glance.
Four screen positions
The counter can sit in the top-left, top-right, bottom-left or bottom-right corner of the screen.
Adjustable background
A background panel can be enabled or disabled, with padding set for better readability.
Placeholder text
Display text uses placeholders, so the FPS value can appear in a custom format with extra words.
