The Dulling
by swigytown
The Dulling is a Forge horror adventure mod for 1.20.1 in which a broken tear through the fabric of the world spreads darkness across the land.
What it does
The story follows a cosmic horror in which a sacrilegious core breaks open and grows in power, slowly blotting out the sun and freezing the world while its hunters search for the places where people still live. The player must travel beyond the Nether and the End to find the key to saving the Overworld. The mod adds two dimensions, more than 100 enemies and more than 10 boss battles, along with a set of new gear, a magic system and several factions opposing the Dull Church.
Its visual effects are custom and cannot be turned off. Players using advanced shaders are warned that the effects can make incoming attacks invisible, so the mod is better played without those shaders. The Dulling requires Cloth Config API and Geckolib on the Forge loader, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge only, for 1.20.1, with 0.3.0 as the latest file released on 2026-09-05. The code is not open source; the mod is released under All rights reserved.
