SQLite JDBC
by Kosmolot
SQLite JDBC is a library that gives other mods and server plugins a way to read and write SQLite databases through the JDBC interface.
What it does
The mod does not add blocks, items or gameplay on its own. It packages the Xerial SQLite JDBC Driver with extra mod metadata so that Fabric, Forge and Quilt can load it as a library, and other mods use it to open SQLite files from Java code. Dynmap is one example of a mod that relies on JDBC in this way.
Installing the mod on a server with Paper or Spigot works the same way, since the same universal JAR runs on Forge, Fabric and Spigot. Builds cover 1.12 – 1.20.4, with 35 release versions listed and the latest file dated 2023-05-06 for 1.20.4. The code is open source under the Apache License 2.0 and the source code and issue tracker are public.
Because the driver is a direct repackage of the upstream project, the author states that no modifications were made to the underlying JDBC driver. Other mods that need a SQLite connection depend on this library rather than bundling their own copy, which is why several catalog mods list it as a requirement.
Key features
Bundled SQLite driver
The Xerial SQLite JDBC Driver is packaged so that Java code can connect to SQLite databases without a separate install.
Universal JAR
One JAR loads on Forge, Fabric and Spigot, so a single file covers each of these platforms.
Added mod metadata
Metadata added to the repackaged driver lets the mod loaders recognize the JAR as a mod.
No gameplay changes
The library adds no content of its own and leaves the behavior of the driver unchanged.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Mod developers and server plugin authors who need a SQLite connection in Java code. Players who only want gameplay content will not find anything to use directly.
How it compares
Minecraft PostgreSQL JDBC is open source under the BSD 2-Clause License and covers Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.12.2 – 26.1.2, so it targets a different database. MySQL JDBC Driver is open source under the GNU General Public License v2.0 only, for Fabric and NeoForge across 1.18 – 1.21.4, and it works on either side of a connection while neither side needs it. It connects to MySQL rather than SQLite.
