Minecraft PostgreSQL JDBC is a library that bundles the official PostgreSQL JDBC driver so other mods and plugins can reach a PostgreSQL database without shipping their own copy.
What it does
The mod contains no gameplay of its own. It provides one universal jar that covers each supported loader and Minecraft version, built from the pgjdbc driver with only repackaging changes that leave the driver's functions untouched. Mods and plugins that want to talk to PostgreSQL can depend on it instead of bundling a driver themselves.
The jar works on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and also runs as a plugin on Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, Purpur and Folia. Java 8 or newer is required, and the driver follows the pgjdbc 42.x baseline. Files cover 1.12.2 – 26.1.2 across 50 release versions, with the latest build dated 2026-06-06 for 26.1.2. The project is open source under the BSD 2-Clause License, and the full license text ships with the jar.

On startup the mod checks whether the driver is available, and dependent code can fall through gracefully when an operator has not installed it.

On Paper 1.17 and later the driver sits in the plugin's own classloader, which keeps it separate from other plugins.

Microsoft SQL JDBC is not open source, uses a custom license and covers only Fabric and Forge for 1.12 – 1.20.4.
