WorldNamePacket
by Kosmolot
WorldNamePacket tells mapping mods which world a server player is connected to, on servers that run more than three vanilla dimensions or sit behind a proxy.
What it does
On a server, several mapping mods can mix up maps because they cannot tell which world a player is in. This mod reads the world name from the server configuration, level-name, and reports the vanilla dimension name or the modded dimension name to each supported mapping mod, so the map shown matches the world the player is actually on. The problem is common on modded servers, and it also appears on vanilla servers behind a proxy such as Bungeecord or Velocity.
The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing anything. Install the jar from the Releases section into the mods or plugins folder of the server. The same file works on Fabric and on Spigot, and it also runs on Paper. Servers using a proxy need the mod installed on each backend server. The mod has no settings to change, and it does not work on Forge.
Key features
Automatic world naming
The world name is taken from the server level-name setting, so no manual setup is needed.
Modded dimension names
Modded dimensions are reported under their own names, not as a generic world.
Mapping mod support
VoxelMap, Xaero's Map, JourneyMap and Rei's Minimap are listed as supported mapping mods.
Multiworld mode
The mod sets the world name automatically for multiworld servers, and it accepts more manual configuration of world recognized messages.
