Smooth Hover
by kallmetony
Smooth Hover adds a fading hover animation to buttons and inventory slots in Minecraft's interface, with settings for speed, color and opacity.
What it does
Standard Minecraft interface elements switch between their normal and hovered states at once. Smooth Hover replaces that instant change with a short transition on buttons, inventory slots and other GUI elements, so the cursor movement appears to ease in and out. Players can tune the transition speed, the highlight color and its opacity from the mod's options.
The mod is client-side only, so a server does not need it and players can join without installing it. It requires Architectury API and Cloth Config API. Builds are published for Fabric and NeoForge across 17 release versions, 1.21 – 26.3, and the code is not open source; it is released under All rights reserved.
Key features
Animated button hover
Buttons and other GUI elements fade into their hovered state instead of changing instantly.
Inventory slot highlight
Inventory slots show a smooth hover effect, with an option to switch between display modes for slots.
Adjustable transition speed
The duration of the hover transition can be changed in the options to suit a faster or slower feel.
Color and opacity settings
The hover highlight color and its opacity can both be set, and the trash slot hover color can be changed on 26.x builds.
Smooth world and server selection
On 26.x builds, the world and server selection screens also use smooth animations.
