Hover Highlight, a Fabric client mod by cutebow, tints the inventory slot under the cursor and the selected hotbar slot so the active slot is easier to pick out.
What it does
The mod changes the background tint of the slot a player hovers over in inventory screens, and of the selected hotbar slot. The highlight color can be chosen in the config, and an opacity slider sets how strong the tint looks, so it can be made subtle or more visible. Both colors can be changed separately from the config screen, and transparency can be adjusted the same way.
Hover Highlight is a client-side mod. Only the player's game needs it, and a server does not have to run it. It is published for Fabric only, across 14 release versions 1.21 – 26.1.1, and the latest Fabric file is for 26.1.X. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
