Smelting Plus
With Smelting Plus installed on a server, furnaces and blast furnaces return a full ingot when a player melts a crafted or found item, instead of only a nugget.
What it does
The mod is a data pack for Minecraft Java Edition. Melting an iron, gold, copper, diamond or netherite item yields one complete ingot rather than a nugget, which makes recycling gear practical in late-game play. Smelting works in both regular furnaces and blast furnaces. Each item listed in the mod's feature list returns its ingot when melted.
The data pack covers copper tools, a full copper armor set, copper horse armor, copper doors, trapdoors, grates, bulbs and lightning rods, along with spyglasses, which return one ingot for two. Iron, gold and diamond tools and armor are included, as are buckets, rails, hoppers, cauldrons and shears. Netherite items are covered too.
Only the server must run the data pack; players may join without it, and the server can work with either side running it. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with builds for 1.19 – 1.21.11. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
Key features
Full ingot returns
Melting an iron, gold, copper, diamond or netherite item gives one full ingot instead of a nugget.
Copper tools and armor
Copper pickaxes, axes, hoes and swords, plus a full copper armor set and copper horse armor, are added to the smelting list.
Copper building blocks
Copper doors, trapdoors, grates, bulbs and lightning rods can be melted back into copper.
Spyglass recycling
Two ingots melt back into one ingot from a spyglass, so the recipe loop stays cheap.
Furnace and blast furnace support
Both furnace types apply the same returns, so players can choose either for recycling.

Use cases
Late-game recycling
Players who have crafted a lot of iron or diamond gear can melt it down for usable ingots.
Modpacks
Pack authors can include the data pack to standardize how smelting returns work across many items.
Who it’s for: Server owners and modpack authors who want melting to return ingots instead of nuggets. Players on a server that runs the data pack see the change without installing anything.
