Visiting Villagers
With Visiting Villagers installed, villages gain visitors who arrive at dawn, bring new trades and leave at sunset, so quiet hamlets stop feeling like ghost towns.
What it does
Visiting Villagers is a lightweight quality-of-life mod that transforms standard Minecraft villages into busier hubs. Visitors such as villagers, babies, wandering traders and golems come and go on a daily cycle, which gives players new trades and a reason to keep returning to a village. The mod asks for little setup, because it does not require players to manage complex NPC needs. Villages that take visitors also need enough beds and workstations to host them.
Players can check a village with a right-click display that reports the visitors within 128 blocks, and the Visitor Checker Book opens a dynamic report on an enchanted book whose stats refresh each time it is opened. Server owners can manage the village in real time with advanced commands, and can tune spawn figures and behavior through in-game menus. Fine-tuning is done in the visitingvillagers.json file on Fabric, or in visiting-villagers-common.toml on Forge and NeoForge. The mod is performance friendly and tracks village population without commands.
Visiting Villagers is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across five release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.2. It is licensed as All rights reserved, so the code is not open source. Both the server and every player need the mod, because the environment is client and server.
