Simple Voice Megaphone lets a held item extend how far a player's voice carries in Simple Voice Chat, doubling the default range.
What it does
Holding the megaphone item with the right mouse button raises the distance a player's voice reaches. The item is added by a small mod built for the voice chat system, so speech can be heard farther in a world without changing the proximity settings for everyone else. Players who hold the item get the extended range while they keep it in use.
The distance multiplier is configurable. By default the megaphone doubles the speaking distance of Simple Voice Chat, from 48 blocks to 96 blocks. Server owners can change the value to match their own map size or events. Because the voice chat settings are involved, the mod is meant to be used alongside that system on a server.
Installation requires Simple Voice Chat, Architectury API and Fabric API for the Fabric build. Simple Voice Megaphone runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the code is released under the MIT License as open source.
