Show Me What You Got
by Apace
Show Me What You Got lets players share an item from their inventory into chat, with the item's tooltip visible to others who run the mod.
What it does
While the inventory is open, holding Ctrl and pressing the chat key over an item sends it to chat. By default that combination is Ctrl+T. Recipients who have the mod see the item's texture and tooltip inside the message, so the shared piece of equipment can be inspected without leaving the game.
The mod runs on the server, so the server is expected to have it installed. Clients without the mod still see shared items in chat, but they cannot share items themselves and do not see the texture in the tooltip. A client that has the mod but connects to a server without it sends only the item name as plain text. Fabric API is required, and the mod is published for Fabric and Quilt across 13 game versions, 1.17 – 1.21.3, with the latest files built for 1.21.3. Snapshot builds are also published. The code is open source under the MIT License.
