Resonance
by TalonFloof
Resonance adds ambient sounds that change with the biome, nearby blocks, the time of day, seasons and other conditions, so a world feels more alive while the player explores.
What it does
Instead of looping one sound per biome, Resonance layers idle loops with extra sounds that trigger only under particular conditions. The sounds respond to the surroundings, so the ambiance around the player varies from place to place and from hour to hour. Serene Seasons is one of the mods whose seasons the ambiance can reflect when it is installed.
The mod stays close to the vanilla ambiance and avoids a heavily stylized sound design. Ambient sand sounds and firefly bush sounds arrived with release 1.21.5, and thunder is handled separately: distance changes which sounds play, which makes storms feel more menacing. Resonance is client-side only, so only the player's game needs it, and it requires Fabric API and Fzzy Config. Mod Menu is optional and provides a settings screen.
Builds are published for Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21.5 and 1.21.11. The files are marked beta, and the mod is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later. Its source code and issue tracker are public. The author states that the mod receives updates only for versions from 1.21.5 on, and that an unofficial backport to earlier versions is not supported by the author.

What the author says
Resonance is a cross-platform clientside mod which adds ambient sounds that play under different conditions, including: different biomes, nearby blocks, time, seasons (if Serene Seasons is installed), etc. With the release of 1.21.5 adding ambient sand sounds and firefly bush sounds, I felt that a lot more could have…
