Regex Search lets players find items in the world by matching their names, tooltips or IDs against regular expressions or plain text.
What it does
Typing a query into the search field highlights every matching item in the world, including items inside containers and dropped on the ground. Highlights stay visible through walls, so a player can locate a chest across a room without walking to it. Clearing the search field removes the highlights.
The mod supports plain text, regular expressions and an extended notation for combining conditions. Players can choose the search mode from a selector, and matching can ignore letter case. Blocks, entities or both can be searched, and for containers the highlight shows what kind of container holds the item. Up and down arrow keys step through previous searches, and the last query is remembered between uses.
Regex Search is a Fabric mod for 1.20.1 and requires Fabric API. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Its source code is public and it is released under the MIT License as open source. Builds are published for 1.20.1 only, with 1.3.0 as the latest file.

Who it’s for: Players with large storage setups and server owners who want a search tool for their players. Clients need the mod to use the highlights, and the server needs it installed too.
How it compares
Chest Search is a client-side only Fabric mod for 1.20.1 – 26.3 under the MIT License, and it is open source. Item Regex is also client-side only and open source, but it is released under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 and covers 1.21.5 – 26.3. Regexing hoppers is server-side only, open source under the MIT License, and runs on 1.20.6 – 1.21.11, so it does not help players find items in the world.
