Recruits Siege Fix

by Knightmare_Broke

Recruits Siege Fix changes how Recruits sieges are decided, so attackers must contest one core chunk that the claim owner selects.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Instead of pressuring a whole claim, a siege is won by capturing a single Core Chunk picked by the claim owner. Attackers have to enter that chunk and contest it to build capture progress. Only units standing in the core chunk count toward the capture, and the progress pauses while the attackers are outside it. If they stay away too long, the siege fails. The mod also adds a clear target marker on the attacker side, so the core chunk is visible during a siege.

Recruits Siege Fix requires Villager Recruits. Install Recruits and SiegeSystemFix in the same Forge 1.20.1 environment. The server and every player need the mod installed. Its files are published for Forge only, for Minecraft 1.20.1, under All rights reserved, which means it is not open source. The version 1.0.0 file is dated 2026-03-22.

Key features

  1. Core chunk objective

The siege objective becomes one chunk chosen by the owner, replacing the default whole-claim pressure.

  2. Capture progress

Progress builds only while attacking units are inside the core chunk and pauses when they leave it.

  3. Timeout for absent attackers

If attackers stay away past a set time, the siege fails. The pause timeout and capture duration are configurable.

  4. Attacker target marker

A marker on the attacker side shows the core chunk, so attackers no longer have to guess where to push.

  5. Owner-set core chunk

The owner stands on the desired chunk and runs the setcorechunk command, which sets the core for the claim.

How it compares

Recruits Upgrades is open source under the MIT License and is also a Forge mod for 1.20.1 that runs on client and server, but it extends Recruits rather than changing siege capture. Journey Recruits is open source under the MIT License, is client-side only, and covers 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, so it does not need to be on the server. Territory Energy is also for Forge 1.20.1 on client and server, under the MIT License, and is not open source.

What the author says

This addon for Villager Recruits that closes the biggest siege exploit: attackers no longer win by idling anywhere in the claim until the timer ends. Instead, claims are captured by contesting a single Core Chunk chosen by the owner. What This Mod Changes: - Replaces default “whole-claim pressure” siege behavior with…
