Territory Energy

by flogr

Territory Energy lets a team claim chunks by placing a Core, and the claim stays protected for as long as the Core holds power.

ForgeClient and serverMIT License1.20.1

What it does

Teams create territories by placing one Core per claim, which covers the surrounding chunks. A Core is powered by Forge Energy (FE), so keeping a claim safe depends on feeding it energy from generators or from other technology mods. Overlapping claims cannot be taken over, because the mod blocks any attempt to claim a chunk that is already held.

Protection is handled by a central Core block that guards the base against enemy players. Server owners can switch individual protections off and adjust limits through the config file, which lets the mod fit different playstyles on PvP survival servers. The mod is a lightweight option for that kind of server and is published for Forge 1.20.1 only.

The mod is installed on both the server and every player's client, since the environment is client and server. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. Forge is the only loader covered, with the latest file, 1.1.4 for 1.20.1, dated 2026-03-12.

Key features

  1. Energy-based claims

A territory stays claimed while its Core has energy, so claims are tied to power rather than to a fixed fee.

  2. Configurable block protection

Breaking and placing blocks, including with explosives, can be restricted in the area around a base.

  3. Intruder debuffs

Enemies who enter a protected base receive a Mining Fatigue effect, and the effect can be configured.

  4. Generators included

The mod adds generators, so Core energy can come from in-mod sources as well as other technology mods.

Questions

Does Territory Energy need other mods to get power?

The Core uses standard Forge Energy, so it needs a power source. The mod includes generators, and other technology mods can also supply energy.

Does Territory Energy have to be installed on both sides?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Can server owners change how strict the protection is?

Yes. Protections can be turned off and limits adjusted through the config file to suit the server.
