Recruits Upgrades

by aguilam

Players who run a Villager Recruits faction can use Recruits Upgrades to raise the maximum number of claimed chunks with emeralds, in five levels.

ForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

The mod adds an emerald-based upgrade system to the Recruits setup. Each of its five upgrade levels costs more emeralds than the one before, and each level raises the number of chunks a faction may claim. The default starting limit is 50 chunks, and the top level reaches 100 chunks, so a faction can expand its territory step by step as its treasury grows.

Recruits Upgrades requires Villager Recruits, which provides the recruits and claims it builds on. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files exist for Forge only, for 1.20.1, with 1.0.0 as the latest file released on 2026-04-19. The code is under the MIT License and is open source.

Key features

  1. Five upgrade levels

Claim size grows through five levels, each with a higher emerald cost than the last.

  2. Customizable levels

Level names, emerald prices and the maximum chunks granted at each level can all be changed in the config.

  3. In-game configuration menu

A settings screen built with Cloth Config lets server owners adjust the upgrades without editing files by hand.

  4. Faction expansion

Factions that spend emeralds on upgrades can hold a larger territory than the default limit allows.

Questions

Does Recruits Upgrades need Villager Recruits?

Yes. Villager Recruits is a required dependency and must be installed alongside Recruits Upgrades on Forge for 1.20.1.

Does Recruits Upgrades have to be installed on both sides?

Yes. The server and every player need the mod installed.

Which Minecraft versions does Recruits Upgrades support?

Only 1.20.1 has a Forge file, so the mod does not run on other game versions.

Can the upgrade costs be changed?

Yes. Server owners can set the name, emerald price and chunk limit of each level, and the Cloth Config screen in the game lets them edit those values without touching files.
