Radiation Zones

by FuzjaJadrowa

Radiation Zones lets server owners mark configurable areas per dimension where players take harmful effects unless they hold a Lugol's iodine protection.

FabricNeoForgeGNU General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.21.1

What it does

Admins define radiation zones in a chosen dimension and set safe areas inside them with commands, which can also clear existing zones. Players standing outside a safe area receive harmful effects on a configurable check interval, and a boss bar warns them while they are inside a zone. Lugol's iodine is a custom effect and a potion that protects against the radiation, and its color, duration and recipe can all be changed in the configuration.

The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and its source code and issue tracker are public. Files are published for Fabric and NeoForge on 1.21.1 only, with version 1.0.1 as the latest file for both loaders, released on 2026-04-22. Server platforms Paper, Spigot, Bukkit and Purpur are also supported, and the advanced configuration covers all of them.

Key features

  1. Configurable radiation zones

Zone areas are set per dimension, so a nether or end zone can differ from the overworld.

  2. Harmful effects outside safe areas

A list of radiation effects applies to players outside safe zones at a configurable interval.

  3. Lugol's iodine protection

Lugol's iodine works as both a custom effect and a potion that blocks the radiation.

  4. Boss bar warning

A boss bar appears while players are inside a radiation zone, and its settings can be adjusted.

  5. Admin commands

Commands set and clear safe zones and can be disabled through the enableCommands option.

  6. Broadcast and message options

Broadcast toggles and message templates let server owners control what players see.
