PolyWeather (Weather Changer)
by Polyfrost
With PolyWeather, players pick a sky for their own view, choosing among several weather types and their strength, while the server's weather remains unchanged.
What it does
The mod replaces the displayed weather with one picked by the player. Options include clear skies, rain, storm and snow in any biome, so snow can fall in a desert. Intensity sliders control rain, snow and thunder, and the sky, clouds and fog take on tints that match the chosen weather. Rain sounds and ground splashes follow the selected conditions.
The change is purely visual: the weather on the server is not altered, so other players on a multiplayer server still see their own conditions. A real-weather option reads the weather where the player lives, and it takes effect after the game is restarted. The mod is a client mod, so players install it themselves and servers need nothing.
PolyWeather needs OneConfig and Fabric Language Kotlin. OneConfig is also bundled inside the mod. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and Ornithe, with the latest Fabric build v1.3.0 for 26.3, the Forge build v1.0.0 for 1.12.2 and the Ornithe build v1.3.0 for 1.8.9. The code is under a custom license and is not open source.

Use cases
Solo scenes and screenshots
A player building or photographing a scene can set a particular sky without waiting for natural weather to change.
Single-player exploration
Snow in a desert or a storm over a plain can be set for a single world without any change to its data.
Who it’s for: Players on single-player worlds or multiplayer servers who want a personal look for the weather. Because the change is only visual, it suits anyone who wants a different atmosphere without affecting the server's weather.
How it compares
FOV Changer is a client mod for Fabric and Ornithe across 1.8.9 – 26.3 and is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, so it changes field of view instead of weather.
