Ping Me
by moechakucha
Ping Me lets players call out another player in chat with a ping that sends a notification, and the server handles it.
What it does
Ping Me is a server-side Fabric and Quilt mod. A player can ping anyone in chat, and the named player receives a notification. The highlight on the ping message makes it simple to spot in a busy chat log. Because the work happens on the server, players connect with a plain vanilla client and nothing needs to be installed on their side.
Server owners install the mod once and every player on the server gets the ping function. The name auto-completion and highlight parts are described in the author text as client-side additions, so a player who installs the client part gets name completion while typing. Files are published for Fabric and Quilt on 1.19.3, and the source code is open under the MIT License.
Installation needs only the server for the core feature. The mod covers 1.18.2 and 1.19.3 as game versions, with files for 1.19.3 as the latest release, dated 2023-01-16. The first build was published on 2022-08-17.

Use cases
Calling players in multiplayer
Groups on a shared server can call a specific player to a location or task without typing the name out in full.
Busy community chats
Server owners running large chats can use highlighted pings to keep direct messages visible among general conversation.
Who it’s for: Server owners who want a notification feature for chat, and players on servers that run the mod, which connect with a vanilla client.
How it compares
Chat Notify is a client-side only mod under the Apache License 2.0, published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 1.19.3 – 26.3, so it runs only on the player's own game. PingPing works on both client and server and is open source under the MIT License for 26.1 – 26.2, which means it must be on both sides. Ping Me runs only on the server and needs nothing from players.
