Overlay Wardrobe
by TGdoesCode
Overlay Wardrobe lets a player switch skin overlays from inside Minecraft, so the look of a character can change without editing skin files.
What it does
The mod catalogs toggleable skin overlays, so a player can change the appearance of a character at once and without outside tools. A dedicated button on the main menu opens the wardrobe as soon as the game starts, which keeps the feature one click away. Roleplay, matching an outfit to the biome a player is in, or simply changing style are the situations the author describes.
Overlay Wardrobe is a Fabric mod for 1.20.1 only, released under the MIT License. It needs Fabric API and MCEF (Minecraft Chromium Embedded Framework) to run. Only the player's game needs it, and servers run without it. The latest file is 1.8-1.20.1, dated 2025-07-25, and the project is open source with public source code and an issue tracker.
