Ouch!
by Patbox
With Ouch!, server owners can show floating damage and healing numbers above entities whenever they are hurt, killed or healed.
What it does
Ouch! is a server-side Fabric and Quilt mod that adds a customisable damage indicator. Once a hit, death or heal happens, the mod spawns a number or text particle using Polymer, so players see the change at the affected entity. By default only damage and healing are shown, and the text color, display size, movement, visibility time and predicates can all be changed in the config. Available presets cover a minimal default setup and a full configuration for advanced use.
Custom text uses the QuickText format, and conditions are written with the supplied Predicate API. Each damage type can produce its own particle, and several particles with different settings can fire for the same hit, which allows extra messages. Lines in the config file that begin with a comment marker are explanations and are not part of the real settings.
The mod is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only and is open source. It was first published on 2024-06-21 and last updated on 2026-09-12. Files cover 1.21 – 26.3 for Fabric and Quilt, and snapshot builds are published as well.
