MyLuckyBlock
by Sycamore0
MyLuckyBlock is a lucky block mod in which each block a player breaks can set off one of more than 400 random events.
What it does
A lucky block that a player breaks triggers a random event. The events cover a broad range of effects: items drop from the broken block, mobs spawn around the player, blocks are placed or fall, chests appear, explosions go off, particles are shown, and chat messages are sent. Because the outcome is chosen at random, two breaks of the same block can produce very different results.
The mod depends on Fabric API and is published for Fabric and NeoForge. Both client and server need it, so every player on a server that runs it must install it too. Files exist for 1.21 – 1.21.11 and for 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3, 17 release versions in total, and snapshot builds are published as well. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are publicly available.
TwilightLuckyBlock requires MyLuckyBlock, so it is one of the mods that build on it. Its lead and related files must match the same game version.
Key features
More than 400 events
Breaking a lucky block selects one event from a pool of over 400, so the results vary widely from break to break.
Item drops
A broken lucky block can release items, giving the player a reward or an unexpected stack of materials.
Mob spawns
Events can spawn mobs next to the player, turning a single break into a fight or a surprise encounter.
Block placement and falling blocks
Some events place new blocks around the player, and others make blocks fall from above, changing the area.
Chests, explosions and effects
Events can place chests, create explosions, show particles and send chat messages to announce what happened.

How it compares
Lucky Blocks is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later, with files for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 1.21 – 26.3. Its server side is required, and the client side is optional, so it works on the server alone. MyLuckyBlock is client and server, so both sides need it. BreakEffect is client-side only and covers 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 under the MIT License, so it does not run on the server side at all.
