Morphica

by Melworks

Morphica lets players and mobs take on the appearance of other entities, blocks or player skins, while keeping their original behavior.

FabricClient and serverMIT License26.1 – 26.2

What it does

A disguise changes how an entity or block looks and nothing else: a disguised mob keeps its own AI, drops and behavior. Mob disguises can make a sheep appear as an Enderman, player disguises copy a real player's skin, cape and model, including deadmau5 ears, and block disguises cover an entity with a block, with an optional grid-snapping blend. Animations specific to each mob type, such as a Piglin dancing, a Creeper inflating or a Warden sniffing, can be triggered, along with universal poses like sitting, sleeping, swimming and crouching.

Commands take a disguise type followed by options, and several properties can be set in one command. Tab-completion suggests only the options that fit the chosen disguise type. Look-at targeting selects the entity a player is facing, and a self form lets a player disguise themselves. Morphica is a lightweight, server-authoritative system; it needs Fabric API and runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need the mod. It is released under the MIT License, is not open source, and is published for Fabric only, with files for 26.1 – 26.2 and 1.4.0 for 26.2 as the latest.

Key features

  1. Mob disguises

Any entity can take on the look of another mob, while its drops and AI stay intact.

  2. Player and block disguises

Entities can be disguised as real players with their skins, or as blocks, with grid-snapping available.

  3. Mob-specific animations

Animations such as Creeper inflating or Sniffer sliding play on disguised mobs, plus universal poses like sitting and swimming.

  4. Chained commands with completion

Several options can be set in one command, and autocomplete offers only the options that apply to the chosen type.

  5. Shorthand and full names

Mob and block names work both in shorthand, like zombie, and with full namespaces, like minecraft:zombie or a modded entity.
