Good ol Immortal Snail
by Melworks
Good ol Immortal Snail adds one snail to a world that cannot be killed and keeps moving toward the nearest player.
What it does
A single snail spawns after a five second countdown started by a command. It always paths toward the nearest living player and cannot be stopped by weapons, lava or ordinary traps. Touching it kills a player instantly, so the usual answer is to keep moving and plan routes around water and lava, since the snail travels through both and may break through walls over time.
Spawn countdowns never queue up, so a second request is ignored while a snail already exists in the world. Server hosts, admins and players with permission can adjust how fast it moves, where higher values make the chase more dangerous. Commands also report how far away the snail is, how many blocks it has broken so far, and whether it has been sent to another dimension.
The mod depends on Fabric API and Geckolib, and runs on Fabric for 26.1 – 26.1.2 with three release versions, released under the MIT License and not open source. Both the server and every player need it, and the latest file is 1.0.0 for 26.1.2, published 2026-04-17.
Key features
Unkillable pursuer
The snail ignores weapons, lava and traps, and it keeps returning after it has been pushed away.
Chat warnings
When the snail gets close again after falling back, a short chat message lets players know the danger is returning.
Block breaking
With mob griefing enabled the snail slowly breaks blocks, including strong ones, so walls only buy time.
Adjustable speed
A command changes how fast the snail moves, and higher values make the chase more dangerous.
Distance and stats
Commands show how far the snail is and how many blocks it has broken, so players can judge the danger.

Who it’s for: Players who want a persistent chase threat in survival or adventure worlds, and server owners who want a boss-style event that can be triggered with a command.
How it compares
Immortal Snail Mod shares the client and server environment and the MIT License, but targets 1.21.11 – 26.2 and is not open source. Wild Snails is server-side only, under All rights reserved, and published only for 26.1.2, so players join without installing it. Simple Immortal Pets is open source under the MIT License, client and server, for 1.21.8, and focuses on pets rather than a hunting snail.

What the author says
Immortal Snail adds a single snail to your Minecraft world that cannot die and never stops chasing players. This is not a boss fight. This is not a mob you beat. This is a problem that keeps getting closer.
