Map Link brings player positions, markers and area overlays from web maps into Xaero's Minimap and Xaero's World Map on the client.

What it does

Map Link converts map tiles from a web map, and it feeds positions, markers and claim areas from Bluemap, LiveAtlas or Squaremap into Xaero's Minimap and Xaero's World Map. Tile conversion currently covers Bluemap only, and other maps are planned for later updates. Idle time for each player, counted from their last movement, appears in the tab list as an AFK timer.

Required dependencies are Cloth Config API and Fabric API. Mod Menu, Xaero's Minimap, Xaero's Minimap (Fair-Play) and Xaero's World Map are optional. The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and its source code and issue tracker are public. It was first published on 2024-04-03 and last updated on 2026-09-20.

Key features

  1. Live player tracking

    Player positions update in real time as player-head icons in Xaero's Tracked Players list or as waypoints.

  2. Web map markers

    Markers from the web map are drawn with custom icons on the client's map.

  3. Area overlays

    Claim areas from the web map are displayed as overlays on Xaero's maps.

  4. AFK time in the tab list

    The tab list shows how long each player has been idle, calculated from movement.

  5. Friend list overrides

    A friend list lets the player change some settings for chosen friends.

  6. Configurable display

    Many config options control which markers, players and overlays are shown and how they appear.

Fabric API is required, and Cloth Config API is required as well. Both are listed as required dependencies of the mod.

Does a server need Map Link installed?

No. Servers do not need it; each player installs it for their own game.
